Edep-Siz / In-Decent exhibition-performance project coordinated by Oya Akın and Oya Silbery
Art Rooms Gallery in collaboration with Rooftop Theatre

The Edep-Siz/In-Decent Project brings together different disciplines of art such as performance, painting, photography, installation and video.

The Project; in an age that we define ourselves as 'modern', is the evaluation of the systems and belief philosophies imposed upon us and how we perceive modernity as a concept.

It is a critique of virtue and tradition in the face of nudity, sexuality and eroticism, and the hypocrisy and inconsistency of society against sexuality. It does this by engaging levels of criticism and aesthetic, involving the human body and making the one dimension into three.
The artists were asked to share their work with the Rooftop Theater Group and the group conducting workshops in which they used these works as "stimulus" devised performances on the axis of each work, therefore participating in the exhibition with their live performances.

Rooftop Theater Group consists of: Director Maria Varnakkidou, performance artists Oya Akın, Vasiliki Andreou, Lyda Karayianni, Leda Koumidou, Despina Michaelidou and Themida Nicolau.

Artists participating in the exhibition are: Kemal Ankaç, Emin Çizenel, Çiğdem Emir, Orhan Eskiköy, Ergenç Korkmazel, Gürgenç Korkmazel, Fatoş Miralay, Hüseyin Özinal, Burçin Pehlivan, Jenan Selçuk, Oya Silbery ve Seçkin Tercan.
